SDCC 2014: TV Guide Does The Flash, Gotham, Arrow Comic-Con Special Covers
By Nick Tylwalk
I’m a big fan of magazines, so it’s nice to know that the internet hasn’t completely made them disappear — especially collector’s edition magazines that have something to do with comics or San Diego Comic-Con. As evidence, I present TV Guide’s Comic-Con special issue, done in conjunction with Warner Bros. Television and featuring a Flash story by Geoff Johns, Andrew Kriesberg and Greg Berlanti, a preview of Grayson #1 (which we’ve already reviewed), details on Batman’s ongoing 75th anniversary and more.
Most notably, the issue comes with four flip covers that show off DC’s comics-related shows airing this fall, including The Flash, Gotham, Constantine and Arrow. Batman also swings his way onto one of the covers because he’s like that. And there are covers for genre shows that aren’t directly related to comics like Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries.
They sound like compelling reasons to visit a newsstand, if there are still some of those out there. The TV Guide Comic-Con International special edition will go on sale on July 22 and remain there until September 20 or until it’s sold out, which looks pretty likely if we fans try scooping them all up.
