Dawn Of Justice Car Chase Filming Soon
By Steve Lam
OLV is reporting that in early August, the crew for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be shooting a car chase. They had previously reported seeing a large set being constructed at Sixth and Abbott Streets in Detroit’s Corktown District.
Businesses in the neighborhood have been given notice that filming will take place from August 6th through August 9th. They will be filming in the area of Shelby Street from West Larned Street to Lafayette, and Fort Street from Woodward to Washington Boulevard. The notice also told the businesses to prepare for smoke and fast moving cars.
OLV, after talking to the crew, is also reporting that “passersby will soon be able to tell what it is.” Last week, there were also several truckloads of Styrofoam being delivered to the area. It’s assumed that the material will be used to create building facades.
I wonder if we’ll finally see the Batmobile in action? If so, what will Batman be chasing? Or maybe he’s being chased himself? I’m going to propose a far-fetched idea. Stay with me on this one because I’ll work out the logic right after saying this: I think we’re going to see something big for Comic-Con International. Here’s why: When you film out in the open, a lot is going to be given away. Why not control the exposure and present everything first to an audience with a big splash? When they do film it, everything would have already been seen. This is probably why they’ve been leaking out pics of Batman, the Batmobile, and Superman. These external scenes are going to be seen by everyone anyway. So, that’s my fanboy logic connecting the dots and keeping my optimism up for any hope of a Dawn of Justice Comic-Con event.
