SDCC 2014: The Marvel Shop Returns With Limited Edition Merch Galore

If you’re like me, you kind of envy the cosplay crowd but don’t have the time, money or understanding spouse to commit yourself to that hobby. The Marvel Shop is going to be offering four different hoodies that can meet you halfway, transforming you into a character from Guardians of the Galaxy or Captain America: The Winter Soldier from the waist up. Here’s what I mean:

Yep, that zips over your face so no one has to know you are really Peter Quill. Bomus points if you have better luck getting others to call you Star-Lord than it looks like he has in the movie. If you’d prefer to go even deeper into shades of gray, you could always suit up as one James “Bucky” Barnes instead. The cybernetic arm is, of course, optional, since the hoodie will make it look like you have one anyway.

I didn’t mention that the hoodies are only being offered one per day: Star-Lord on Thursday, Winter Soldier on Friday, Rocket Raccoon on Saturday and Stealth Captain America on Sunday.

Other Assorted Goodies

This is my catch-all category for everything else, things like posters, hats, pins and lanyards. I especially like the tumblers; there are characters from Guardians of the Galaxy that will be offered one per day, except for Rocket and Groot, who will both be sold on Sunday. They’re a team, you know?

I also like the irony of this Superior Iron Man tumbler. Stick it to that smug Tony Stark by drinking your favorite adult beverage out of him, secure in the knowledge that no matter how much cool stuff he invents, he’d be crawling right back in the bottle if you gave him a sip.

If you have to keep it completely real, you could always go with some comics. I know, it’s a novel idea, but the rest of this stuff wouldn’t exist without them. It’s also a nifty excuse for me to increase my pageviews by working Deadpool into this post.
