Spider-Man spin-off Venom to come after Sinister Six film
By Daniel Wood
Whilst there’s doubt that we’ll actually get either of the planned Amazing Spider-Man spin-offs we do at least know the order in which we’ll be supposedly getting them if they do make it to cinematic release. That’s because Alex Kurtzman who is attached to the Venom spin-off as a director has revealed during an interview with Collider which one we can expect first.
He was asked where the Venom spin-off fits into Sony’s Spider-Man franchise and his response was fairly simple and fairly blunt “Venom will come after Sinister Six, I think is the plan.” he then goes on to confirm that he’ll definitely be directing the film. This’ll be particulary interesting because I think it’ll mark Kurtzman’s second directorial stint following People Like Us.
But to be honest I think we were all expecting the Venom film to come after ‘Sinister Six’ especially if my theory that the Sinister Six film will be the next Spider-Man film, spurred on by rumours that the Amazing Spider-Man 3 film has been delayed. In fact Kurtzman himself mentioned that plans for the Amazing Spider-Man 3 were ‘up in the air’ in the same interview on Collider. So honestly anything could happen.
