Famous feature films under his belt include the aforementioned Highlander (1986), Extreme Prejuidice (1987), Shoot to Kill (1988), Blue Steel (1989), Past Midnight (1991), Pet Sematary Two (1992), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Dead Man Walking (1995), Starship Troopers (1997), Flubber (1997), The Guardian (2006), Pathfinder (2007), Nightmare on Elm Street (2010), Informant! He’s also featured in a multitude of other animated ventures spanning DC, Marvel, Disney, and other properties.
General Wade Eiling, a.k.a. the General, first appeared in Captain Atom #1 in March of 1987. The General is the one who blackmails Nathaniel Adam into participating in an experiment that turns Adam into Captain Atom. The same experiment is later repeated on another individual and Major Force is created. When Adam goes missing, the General marries Adam’s wife and acts as the father to Adam’s two children. The General continues his manipulation of Captain Atom by making him go on missions for the exchange of seeing his own children. Later, suffering from a brain tumor, the General transfers his mind into the indestructible body of Shaggy Man. Throughout the years, the General has had run-ins with the JLA and Justice League, and has allied himself with the Injustice Gang. Later, he is recruited into the Society and, eventually, into the Suicide Squad.
This will be the first live incarnation of General Wade Eiling. Past incarnations have been in the DC animated shows Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice. In Justice League Unlimited, the General actually injects himself with a super-soldier serum, which turns him into an indestructible, monstrous being. He has also made an appearance in the Nintendo DS video game Justice League Heroes.
The CW will premiere The Flash on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 8:00PM EST.
