Alfred Molina would play Doctor Octopus again

We all know that J. Jonah Jameson actor J.K. Simmons is the actor everyone would choose to transfer from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films to Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man films reprising his pitch perfect role as JJJ. But if we had to choose a second actor or actress from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films to reprise their role for the Amazing Spider-Man reboot who would it be?

For me personally it would be Alfred Molina, his performance as the troubled Otto Octavius who would later become the dastardly villain Doctor Octopus led to arguably the best villain in the Spider-Man film francise. That means that he would be my favourite  pick to return to Spider-Man films. I mean lets be honest I don’t think any of us want James Franco or Kirsten Dunst to return.

So, if you folks are as likeminded as me and also want Alfred Molina to return as, what I consider to be, Spider-Man’s second greatest villain next to the Green Goblin, you’ll be as ecstatic as I am that Molina himself has recently come out and said that he would love to return to being controlled by four maniacal mechanical arms and battling Spider-Man.

When promoting his latest film ‘Love is Strange’ the British actor was asked about the upcoming Sinister Six film that Sony have planned. He replied “That was the most fun I think I’ve ever had on a movie of that kind, you know, those big, big sort of features where you spend like six months hanging off a wire, you know, and that stuff. But it was the first movie of that kind that I’ve ever been involved in. I had a wonderful time. I loved it. I mean, I’d go back and do it again in a heartbeat.”

However comicbookmovie.com continues to report that Alfred Molina had the wherewithal to suggest that the likelihood of him reprising his role as Dock Ock was fairly slim by saying “The thing is, no actor owns those roles.” A fact that Molina’s ‘Love is Strange’ co-star John Lithgow was keen to take advantage of when he said “Maybe they’ll come after me for Doc Ock … how about Doc Ock’s evil twin?” Lithgow would be great too!
