Win Your Own Comic Book Cover From The League Of Captains

The League of Captains might not be as famous among comic book fans as the Justice League — okay, it’s not even remotely close — but if you’re an NFL fan, you’ve heard of its members. We’re talking about Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Cam Newton, Robert Griffin III and J.J. Watt.

You might not know them as well in their super hero personas as Megawatt, TrIIIple Impact, The Sheriff, Big Easy and The Blender, but Gatorade has transformed all five football stars into super heroes and banded them together as the League of Captains. They even have their own website, complete with their own digital comics.

The site allows you to create your own sports-themed hero if you’re so inclined, and it’s running a contest through September 7 where you can win a comic book cover featuring … well, you. All you have to do is submit a photo of yourself from a game, practice or workout that shows how you “win from within.” Considering that’s one of Gatorade’s marketing slogans, I’m guessing some product placement wouldn’t hurt your chances.

The winner gets his or her photo transformed into a one-of-a-kind comic cover drawn by a professional artist, and while it probably won’t be David Aja or Paolo Rivera, it’s still a pretty cool prize. So check out the League of Captains, and don’t forget, this guy will know if you’re not giving your all.
