Spider-Woman #1 variant cover sparks controversy

Ever since it was announced that Greg Lands would be providing the art for a new solo Spider-Woman comic I’ve been waiting for the latest controversy to arise following on from the fact that Greg Lands is already a hot-bed of criticism following some of his alleged techniques and methods. However it turns out that it isn’t Greg under scrutiy this time but a Spider-Woman #1 variant cover provided by Milo Manara.

Here’s a picture of the variant cover. Let’s see if you smart folks can see if there’s anything wrong with it without being prompted. However I’m sure most of you will be able to see how Milo Manara seems to have made an ass out of himself.

If you’re struggling to get to the bottom of this and can’t quite see what the butt of the joke is then take a look at this

That’s right, the shape of Jessica Drew’s bum has caused quite the stir. This is because the picture seems to defy the laws of physics and the latex suit that Jessica is wearing is a lot, lot tighter than a latex suit has ever been on anyone before ever, basically this looks more like the suit has been painted on instead of being an actual suit.

Jessica Drew’s pose is also under fire as many people are criticising how unneccessary it seems to be and the ‘on her knees, presenting herself to the city’ stance that she’s adopted. The pose also seems to be straight out of a pornography with some people even comparing it to a panel from one of Manala’s slightly racier comics ‘Click’.

Very racy indeed.
