Jock Auctions Batman Comic Art for Children’s Leukemia
By Skip Harvey
Comic Artist Jock has graciously set up an auction on eBay to benefit the treatment of children’s Leukemia. The piece is the original page of Detective Comics #871 – Batman: The Black Mirror.
"This artwork has been very generously donated by renowned comic book artist Jock to help me raise funds for my friends Ellen and Michael whose gorgeous two year old son Nathaniel is being treated for ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia). His prognosis is good but he has a long, not very nice, course of treatment ahead of him over the next few years which will involve the family travelling regularly to hospital.Ebay wrote to me as a seller and offered me the chance to start a sale with zero fees (including final value fees) so I took this opportunity to use the offer to raise as much as I possibly could to help a lovely family and a brave little boy coping with hard times both emotionally and financially. Please give generously with the knowledge that every penny raised by this auction will be going to help them. This page is from the New York Times Best-selling ‘BATMAN: THE BLACK MIRROR’ written by Scott Snyder. Originally published in DETECTIVE COMICS #871 Artist: JockEdition Size: Original ink on DC paperSize: 11″ x 17″This is an original, one of a kind example of Jocks artwork. Never Framed/Displayed. Stored safely in my flatfile since I picked it up the other day from Jock directly. This piece will be shipped very securely. I will wrap it in tissue paper then kraft before sandwiching between pieces of rigid foam board. This will then be wrapped in bubble wrap before being put in a box."
This is a very good cause and may help save two children’s lives. What could be more Batman than that?
The sale ends September 14th.
