For two characters who kick a lot of butt in Guardians of the Galaxy, and despite the fact that my life would likely be in danger for saying this about one of them, Rocket Raccoon and Groot sure are cute. You know what would make them even cuter, though? If someone drew them in the style of Bill Watterson’s long-running comic strip Calvin and Hobbes.
As you might imagine from the simple fact that you’re reading this right now, someone has already seized upon that very idea, and the results are just as amazing as you might expect. The person in question is artist Mike S. Miller, who has a long background illustrating Marvel, DC and various other comics. He’s been doing Rocket and Groot pieces to sell at his convention appearances, and you can see here why they might be pretty popular.
Miller also sells prints through his Facebook page for $20 each and will ship orders of $50 or more. That means you’d need to pick three from his gallery (we did the math for you!), but it might be worth it in this case.
Oh, and just in case it isn’t clear, Rocket is Calvin and Groot is Hobbes. At least I think that’s right.
