The minor league hockey teams the Toledo Walleye and the Evansville Icemen, both in the ECHL, are going to celebrate Batman’s 75th anniversary by wearing it on their sleeves. On Saturday, November 22nd the two teams square off in new uniforms, one as the Caped Crusader, the other as bat-villain The Riddler. From their website:

"We’ll be celebrating Batman through the Saturday, November 22 game as part of our “Heroes Night” celebration. The Walleye and visiting Evansville IceMen will get in on the fun, donning special edition Batman and Riddler-themed jerseys. The game worn jerseys will be sold after the final whistle during a live auction, with proceeds benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association, March of Dimes and the Walleye Wishing Well.A limited number of replica Batman themed jerseys will be available at The Swamp Shop on Monday, November 3.Dress up as your favorite superhero for a chance to win prizes, and get ready for a standing ovation as we salute our local heroes from the police and fire department."

It’s a great cause and an awesome way to celebrate our favorite superhero. If you don’t live near Toledo, you can still contribute by seeing if they post these jerseys for sale in their online store.

You can bet we’ll recap this game just like it were a Gotham episode. Stay tuned, Bat-fans!
