Five Avengers We Still Need To See In Marvel Movies

 2. Wonder Man

Though he started out as a villain and has had his share of philosophical differences with the team in print, Simon Williams is an Avenger who was made for movies — almost literally, considering his background as a Hollywood star.

Don’t worry as much about his completely ionic form of recent years. For films, we could take Wonder Man back to his roots as a man who winds up with incredible power and has to decide if he’s got the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing. The current movie Avengers are a really self-assured bunch, so throwing in someone with some self-doubt who has to prove to himself and others that he has what it takes to be a hero would be a refreshing element we haven’t seen yet.

Simon also has links to multiple characters we’re going to be seeing in theaters very soon. He’s carried a long term torch for the Scarlet Witch, and his brain patterns were used as a template for the mind of the Vision, though that obviously won’t be the case in Avengers: Age of Ultron. As with others on this list, Wonder Man would bring the raw power the team might need if it finds itself without Thor, Hulk or both both.

It shouldn’t be a hard role to cast either, since you’d essentially be searching for a movie star to play a movie star. And maybe the movie costume designers would be able to give Wonder Man something he’s rarely had in the comics: a decent looking costume.
