First time lifting Mjolnir: X-Men: To Serve and Protect #3

Okay, so this one is kind of complicated and confusing in a very stereotypically comic book way. Storm was actually turned into the Goddess of Thunder back in the day as part of a scheme by Loki, who was for some reason mixing it up with both the X-Men and the New Mutants. She even got her own hammer, though that one was called Stormcaster. Fitting.

In a more recent story, Thor went to visit Storm in Wakanda after finding a box with her name on it. Stormcaster was in the box, and when she touched it, she was transformed back into Loki’s thrall again.

However Ororo has always had an iron will, and she was able to shake off the effects of the spell. That’s not the cool part though: she actually took Mjolnir from Thor and used it to shatter Stormcaster.

So … that means Storm is worthy, right? That’s the way I read it.
