The Scene: Loki’s Chitauri Scepter

There has always been a debate if the stone seen in Loki’s Chitauri Scepter is actually an Infinity Stone.  Well, Kevin Feige has recently confirmed that it is!  As one of the most powerful objects in the universe, the scepter is able to open rifts to other dimensions by using the Tesseract as a key, fire lethal energy blasts, and mind-control and bend the will of others.  It seems that in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Stark and team are interested in retrieving it.

Loki never possessed any type of weapon in the comics.  If he did, it was most likely someone else’s and only for a brief moment.  However, that doesn’t mean he’s defenseless all the time, as he innately has mystical powers of his own, which include telepathy, flight, shape-shifting, inter-dimensional teleportation, psionics, astral projection, molecular rearrangement, energy blasts, illusion casting, and hypnosis.  Like all Asgardians, he’s immensely more stronger and more durable than humans.
