Music is one of the surefire ways of eliciting complex emotions and bringing people directly into the world you’ve created. Nothing is more true than the music used in the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer. Though the actual score for the film will be composed by Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Constantine), the music used in the trailer is just as effective. In fact, trailer soundtracks need to really hit it out of the park. Audiences base their judgments on how excited they feel when watching these “appetizers.”
From the Pages of Comics
We wish every comic book came with its own soundtrack, but the music used in the trailer has no other ties to comic books. However, there are some interesting facts:
- I’ve Got No Strings was used because Marvel Studios, being a Disney-owned company now, doesn’t need to pay any royalties for this song since it’s from Disney’s Pinocchio (1940).
- When the action starts happening, the score you hear in the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer is the masterpiece of Superhuman, two music producers based out of London. The track they wrote for the trailer is called Wreckage.
