The Scene: Captain America’s Motorcycle

In every film he’s been in, Captain America’s preferred mode of transportation has been his motorcycle.  And this continues to hold true in Avengers: Age of Ultron, where we see good ole Steve Rogers riding a prototype Harley-Davidson as natural as us normal super soldier serum-challenged people taking a walk.

From the Pages of Comics

Captain America’s preferred make of motorcycle is a Harley-Davidson.  First seen in Captain America #259 (July 1981), the original motorcycle was custom built for Captain America by a young mechanic by the name of Jonathan Coulson of Queens, New York.  The full stats of Captain America’s motorcycle are the following:

  • Make and Model: Harley-Davidson Custom Special
  • Engine: 700 cc HV V-Twin In-line 4 Stroke
  • Curb Weight with Full Tank: 480 LBS

  • Cruising Range: 340 Miles
