Batman 75 Year in Review: Japanese Batman
By Skip Harvey
Batman’s 75th Anniversary draws to a close, so we here at Caped Crusades intend to fill these twilight days talking about the year that was. A lot of big Batman moments happened this year, so let’s review them as many as we can before the festivities fade from our memory.
The Wangan Line expressway in Chiba Prefecture had an unexpected guardian in 2014. Quite famously, ChiBatman patrolled the highway for a brief period.
He cruised around on what seems to be a custom made motorcycle, much to the delight of onlookers. Unlike the famous Australian Batman, who dresses up to please sick children, Chibatman’s identity remained a mystery. Sightings of the hero reportedly go back at least three years, but he made himself even more public in August of 2014.
