The Fantastic Four Trailer Is On The Horizon
By Steve Lam
It seems that Fox and producer/writer Simon Kinberg wants to quell any rumors that The Fantastic Four is in deep trouble. Kinberg has gone on the defensive and stated that the first trailer for the film will be attached to the upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service, which is set for a release date of January 29, 2015 in the United Kingdom, and February 13, 2015 in the United States.
Fox PR actually reached out to Bleeding Cool and confirmed that a majority of United Kingdom theaters will show the trailer prior to the screening of Kingsman: The Secret Service. It was originally rumored that the trailer would be shown during Super Bowl XLIX, which means it would’ve debuted online within minutes of its official release. Well, we can always hope for an Avengers: Age of Ultron type of trailer release leak.
The Fantastic Four‘s success has been under heavy skepticism due to it’s having an August 7, 2015 release date, but no marketing or advertisements behind it. Rumors started swirling about a week ago that Fox executives weren’t happy with director Josh Trank’s vision of the film. Later on, there were reports that months of massive reshoots had to take place because the movie was a mess.
Kinberg, along with the trailer announcement, has reached out to Latino-Review and cleared up some of the negative news:
"To confirm – Fantastic Four will be doing 3-4 days of additional photography with director Josh Trank and some key cast members. We are very excited about the film and can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been up to. And you will be able to do that very soon as I can confirm here that the teaser will be on Kingsman in theaters February 13."
That’s a far cry from the disaster we’ve been hearing. Here’s to hoping that The Fantastic Four will be successful and become a new franchise for Fox.
The Fantastic Four is set to release in the United States on August 7, 2015. It will be directed by Josh Trank, written by Simon Kinberg and Jeremy Slater, from a story by Jeremy Slater and Josh Trank, and starring Miles Teller as Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Susan Storm / The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm / The Thing, Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev / Doom, Reg E. Cathey as Dr. Franklin Storm, and Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder.
