Sunderland’s Spider-Man pitch invader walks free

Spider-Man isn’t always on the straight and narrow despite being called everyone’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Sometimes he can cause trouble in Time Square and sometimes he can invade football (soccer to you Americans) pitches and end up getting arrested.

However all’s well that ends well because nineteen year old Bradley Minto who invaded the pitch during a football match between Sunderland and Manchester City in a misguided attempt to raise money for charity, following his mother’s death, has avoided jail and a football ban.

Minto was dared to invade the pitch as part of a public fund-raising stunt for St Benedicts Hospice, which cared for his mother in her final moments of her battle with cancer. The young lad managed to raise £240 for the hospice and only earned himself a six-month conditional discharge and a fine of £100 for court fees and a victim surcharge.
