Taron Egerton wants Spider-Man role after Kingsman

Whilst Miles Teller chose Fantastic Four over Spider-Man it appears that Kingsman star Taron Egerton would rather do Spider-Man than X-Men. Oh what a tangled web these young male actors weave when at first they chose which film roles they receive.

That’s because Egerton, who will be appearing in one comic book movie Kingsman, has recently rubbished rumours that he’s being considered to play Cyclops in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie, describing them as “unfounded”.

The young star spoke to MTV and said

"“I can say I’m not doing X-Men. I love the X-Men films and I love that franchise. I love the people who make them on and off screen, so yeah I’d love to one day sometime, but in this instance that rumour is unfounded.”"

However he did go on to state that there was one superhero role he’d love to play when he leaves the world of cinematic espionage and that’s Spider-Man! Of course it is.

"“If I could play any superhero… my favourite superhero is Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield is wonderful at doing it to the point that I don’t think I should play it.”"

Egerton is right to point out that currently Andrew Garfield is still Spider-Man, he’s contracted to do another Spider-Man film and by all accounts he’s been really well received as Spider-Man so I can’t imagine we’ll be seeing anyone else in a Spidey suit soon. But how would we feel about Taron Egerton Spider-Fans? I guess we’ll have to watch the Kingsman and see.
