Spider-Man reference sneaks into DC’s Multiversity Guidebook #1

There was a time long ago when DC and Marvel comics were friends, their writers used to socialise and their characters used to appear in frequent crossovers. Sadly, despite the potential for the best superhero film ever, DC and Marvel’s relationship has gone slightly downhill and Spider-Man no longer appears gallivanting around with Batman.

However one keen-eyed Redditor spotted that a Spider-Man reference had slipped through the DC editing net and made its way into Grant Morrison’s Multiversity Guidebook #1. Take a look at the following page and see for yourself! Could this mean that DC and Marvel are slowly but surely building some bridges?

As you can see there’s a sneaky little Avengers reference in the Earth 8 graphic, but the thing I’m really interested in is the first sentence of the description. ‘On this world, great power comes with great responsibility’ .. Now where have I heard that line before? Possibly in the world of Spider-Man perhaps.

I wonder how many more Marvel references Morrison has sneaked into the issue? Maybe I’ll pick it up!
