Big Update in Spider-Man Unlimited -The Spider-Verse Continues!
By C.T. Smith
The premiere perennial running game, Spider-Man Unlimited, has received its next large update!
Karn and Morlun have tried their best to consume the life essences of the Spider-Runners, but its time they got a little back up, an Inheritor family reunion. With this update two new bosses are joining the fray -the wild brawler Daemos, and the cunning, intelligent Jennix.
With new bosses, comes new environments. A new subway environment has entered the game, a recreation of New York’s underground perfect for throwing down and running atop a moving train in style. As Gameloft says: “experience the most realistic subway environment straight from New York City!”
And of course the most important additions in a game such as SMU, plenty of new Spider-(Wo)Men to pull through the portal and add to your ever growing Spider-Roster — 8 new spiders total! Announced thus far has been Spider-Man of Earth-X (a Spidey who has put on a few pounds), Punk Rocker Spider-Punk, and the Spider to kick off the update with the brand new event, Spider-Girl! (Anya Corazon).
Speaking of brand new events, there’s now different types to partake in, such as unlimited revive runs and limited runs. In addition, Spider-Power (otherwise known as your multiplier) can unlock new missions rather than levels. Add this to new narrative events to pull players into the world of Spider-Verse, the newest iteration focusing on the rivalry between the two Peters of Earth-616!
There’s also a new Chinese New Year event for all of us to enjoy… er… well, at least all of us iOS users. Unfortunately, the event is iOS-exclusive.
I’ll admit I took a little break from the game (racked up 3200 ISO-8 in the process), but with the new update I’m excited to get back in (and am now down to 2800 ISO-8 after opening the portal 12 times with horrendous luck). There seems to be new icons, some updated boss-kill finishing sequences, and most importantly for veteran players, new inventory slots for new Spideys! Are you guys going to get back into the game? Let me know below, and as always, keep on running.
