So following the death of Wolverine in the Marvel comics, Wolverine and the X-Men couldn’t exactly be an ongoing series anymore could

it? Which means that Marvel have replaced Logan with another much-loved Marvel superhero! Without further ado he’s the recap for Spider-Man and the X-Men #1

The issue starts with Storm air-lifting Spider-Man into the Jean Grey school for higher learning during a battle between the X-Men and Unus the Untouchable. Storm tells Spider-Man she doesn’t like him and he desperately tries to get some of the other X-Men to vouch for him as he successfully beats Unus with his webbing.

Spider-Man reveals that he is hiding something from the X-Men before he’s interrupted by Krakoa who tries to eat him and Toad, who explains that Krakoa will probably stop trying to eat him eventually. In Spider-Man’s room we learn that Spider-Man has been sent to the school because Wolverine suspected there is a mole there, but wasn’t sure who it is or who they are working for. At the same time a Demon Bamf is messing with his head.

Peter’s first class goes disastrously as he quickly loses control of his various students, Hellion, No-Girl, Ernst, Rockslide, Shark-Girl, Eye-Boy and Glob Herman. Spider-Man resorts to webbing Hellion’s mouth shut and ends up shirtless as Storm walks in to check everything is alright. This prompts Spider-Man to take the students to the Danger Room.

Whilst in the Danger Room Spider-Man manages to get the students to discuss ethical questions about helping people with their powers but ends up getting pushed by Rockslide into the path of a Danger Room robot designed to battle Colossus. The students watch on in horror but Spider-Man manages to escape leading to the webhead suspecting Rockslide as the mole.

An angry Spider-Man wants to teach the students that everything isn’t a war so takes them to a museum to try and teach them that if they don’t look out for others everyone ends up extinct.

However the school-trip goes wrong when Spider-Man villain Stegron turns up, along with X-Men villain Sauron who battle and easily defeat Spider-Man and his students with Sauron’s use of hypnosis. During the battle Rockslide risks his life to save Hellion leading to Peter suspecting him less.

Spider-Man awakes to discover himself and most of his class tied up in what appears to the Savage Land as they’re surrounded by dinosaurs. Peter discovers that Shark Girl has turned on her class-mates and has joined forces with Sauron and Stegron. Sauron then reveals that they are actually on Staten Island and that the Saurians are re-purposing it as New Savage Island.
