Ghana’s goalkeeper hopes Spider-Man will bring African Cup of Nations glory
By Daniel Wood
The African Cup of Nations football (soccer to you Americans) tournament rages on with the final between Ghana and Ivory Coast quickly approaching. However it isn’t the footballers themselves that are grabbing the headlines, but rather our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
That’s because Marvel’s biggest superhero was spotted helping Ghanaian goalkeeper Brimah Razak in Ghana’s 3-0 victory over tournament hosts Equatorial Guinea. Razak took his Spider-Man mascot to the field during the semi-final match and even gave the lucky charm a few kisses before placing it next to his goal so Spidey could cheer him on.
Spider-Man’s influence and support obviously worked because Razak got through the entirely match with a clean-sheet having not conceded a goal and he will surely be hoping that Spider-Man can do the same again in the final!
