The results of the Spidey Summit (if it did actually happen) and Amy Pascal’s stepping down have led to the greatest moment in comic book movie history – Spider-Man is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spider-Man will be appearing in an upcoming Marvel film before the next installment in Sony’s franchise (which appears to be another reboot) takes place in 2017.
So let’s take a look at how Spider-Man fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s slate of films now!
As you can see Spider-Man is taking Thor: Ragnarok’s original slot, with Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Inhumans all getting consequently pushed back to make room for Spider-Man, but I’m sure not many people will mind too much!
It’s unlikely that Spider-Man will be appearing in this year’s Avengers Age of Ultron (unless they quickly film a surprise end-credit sequence) and I can’t see Spider-Man appearing in either Doctor Strange or Guardians of the Galaxy 2 so I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that Spider-Man is all-but confirmed to appear in Captain America: Civil War.
Quite an impressive slate of films isn’t it!
