Is this Marvel’s new Spider-Man Twitter page?
By Daniel Wood
A while ago a Twitter page was created called @SpiderMan. At first glance it looked like just another throwaway Twitter account created by a fan but on further inspection it had interesting people following it. Interesting people like current Spider-Man comic book writer Dan Slott and Marvel Entertainment to name just two.
The account hadn’t tweeted anything which made the fact that certain people were following it appear even more random and strange. However I foolishly followed it out of curiosity and dismissed it as nothing to be concerned about. However, imagine my surprise when it’s via this Twitter account that I find out that Sony and Marvel have made a deal allowing Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
That’s right 12 hours ago ,with nothing more than a nonchalant ‘thwip’, @SpiderMan broke the news of the ground-breaking announcement and I got a message popping up on my phone letting me know. To be honest it really does seem like this account was set up by someone who knew this announcement was going to happen.
So Spider-Fans, if you like big Spider-Man news. I’d keep an eye on this Twitter account!
