Steve Ditko to reveal why he quit Spider-Man?
By Daniel Wood
Steve Ditko’s last issue
Steve Ditko is the co-founder of Spider-Man alongside Stan Lee and worked with Lee as the exclusive comic book artist for the Amazing Spider-Man comic book series. However in 1966 Ditko left Marvel for reasons unknown to anyone. In fact to this day no-one knows why Ditko chose to quit.
The rumours were that Ditko left Marvel because of a rift that can grown between himself and Stan Lee that had been formed by the pair arguing over the real identity of the super-villain character they’d created together; The Green Goblin. But that hasn’t been confirmed by Ditko.
However Spider-Man Crawlspace reported that comic book fans were given a tease that has set them restlessly stirring by Steve Ditko himself as he ended an issue of his Four-Page series that detailed his experience at the first New York Comic-Con by suggesting that the next issue would explain “Why I Quit”
You can check out the source of the above graphic and the confirmation that Ditko seems ready to tell everyone why he left Marvel after a 50 year silence on the matter via his blog. It really does look like he’s going to spill the beans but for now we’ll just have to wait and see!
