Ex-Spider-Man Tobey Maguire ready to give up $10 million home
By Daniel Wood
Spider-Man may not be financially well-off as a character but there’s absolutely no denying that if an actor is lucky enough to play him in a film franchise they’re going to have a decent amount of money. However one ex-Spider-Man has decided to part with some of that wealth as he’s listed his $10.25 million mansion for sale.
Tobey Maguire, who was the first, and for some people, the best cinematic Spider-Man after appearing in Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy arguably rose to the height of his fame when he took on Peter Parker for the big screen. Most recently however he’s notable for playing one of the lead roles in ‘The Great Gatsby’.
And perhaps it’s the messages in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book that have prompted Maguire to part ways with his opulent plantation-style mansion. Although, Maguire proved to have Kingpin-levels of business savvy as he purchased the mansion for a paltry $8.4 million meaning he’s made a profit.
He isn’t the only Spider-Man actor that’s related to the buying and selling of houses as Andrew Garfield’s first non-Spider-Man related film since Amazing Spider-Man 2 ’99 Homes’ pitted Andrew Garfield against Michael Shannon in a battle over the property market. Although Garfield was decidedly less well-off in that film!
