Snapshot: A Truly Unlimited Run in Spider-Man Unlimited

Hello Web-Heads! This is a segment called snapshot, which will consist of short articles that highlight some cool Spider-Man related stuff.

For the first snapshot, I want to show you one of the longest runs I’ve ever seen, and played, in the “endless” runner mobile game Spider-Man Unlimited. I put endless in quotes because as players of the app game soon find out, there is a cap to each run, which will usually stop after defeating the seventh boss -usually around 45,000 meters but up to around 60,000 meters give or take. I say usually because in the case of the current IOS exclusive event, Chinese New Year Showdown, the run truly becomes endless.

Everything was happening as expected. I ran through and dispatched the first six bosses, and had a pretty great score going (I even hit a 1031+ combo, which means they changed the combo system as the counter would previously hard reset at 999 combos) when I soon realized the run wasn’t stopping and there was no final boss in sight.

Unfortunately I didn’t have enough mental acuity to see just how unlimited it was. I slipped up and ended up dying around 130,000 meters – almost three times the average amount of meters I’ve experienced in every single run I’ve done up to now. With a score of 65,000,000, hopefully I’m a shoe-in for first place to get that Legendary Scarlet Spider (Kaine) prize.

Peep the pictures and let me know in the comments below if you’ve ever had a really long run, or if you’ve seen the current event to the end. And as always, keep on running Spideys!
