24. Thor: The Dark World – Wait, is that Captain America?

I wish I could say Tom Hiddleston is a national treasure, but of course he’s British, so that would be a lie.

Marvel made no secret that Thor: The Dark World had reshoots and script retooling to add in more Loki and more humor. Aside from the mid-credits scene setting up Guardians of the Galaxy, one of the few things The Dark World has going for it is the humor.

One of the highlight scenes is when Lady Sif and the Warriors Three (or Two in this case) help spring Loki from prison. Thor escorts Loki through the halls to the Dark Elf ship and has Loki tell him they should look a little less conspicuous if they really want to do this right.

Loki turns himself into a guard, then turns Thor into Lady Sif, and then, the best one: Loki turns himself into Captain America.

When I saw The Dark World for the first time, it was this scene that sold me on the movie completely. I had no idea that Chris Evans was showing up as Captain America and it works so well because it’s so obviously Loki’s version of Cap and not the straight-laced Steve Rogers from every other Marvel movie.

What makes this scene so hilarious is that when you boil it down, it’s really Chris Evans doing Tom Hiddleston’s impression of Chris Evans as Captain America. And the more you think about it, the more ridiculous it gets.
