18. The Incredible Hulk – One word: thunderclap
In the climactic battle between the Hulk and the Abomination (Blonsky), the chopper containing Betty Ross and her father, General Ross, is pulled down by the two fighting titans. While the Hulk is wrestling with the Abomination, Betty and General Ross are trapped in the downed chopper — with leaking fuel and sparks flying everywhere.
Just as the Hulk knocks out the Abomination by driving his head into a wall, a spark ignites the chopper’s fuel. Seeing an inferno erupt around the love of his life, the Hulk runs straight towards the fire, takes a knee, and performs his iconic shockwave clap which instantaneously blows out the flames, leaving Betty and General Ross unscathed.
A trademark move from the comics brought to life on the big screen. Doesn’t get much better than that.
