2. Iron Man – “I am Iron Man.”

Tony Stark just isn’t good with press conferences. The first one he holds in Iron Man has him sitting on the floor as he eats a cheeseburger and calls a halt to weapons manufacturing, which is what his legacy is built on. He’s been back on American soil for just a handful of hours, and most people would give themselves a few days before appearing in front of cameras.

But Tony Stark isn’t exactly most people.

What a way to end a movie that became the main springboard for comic book movies everywhere. Robert Downey Jr.’s charisma as the genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist really brings the character to life. He gives him layers otherwise unseen, but also keeps hammering home the fact that Tony Stark never learns lessons and rarely learns from his mistakes.

It sets the tone for what’s to come in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Tony throws away his notecards and utters, “I am Iron Man,” before cutting to the closing credits. No other comic book movie had done anything like it. Every other hero keeps their super hero identity private, but not Tony Stark.
