6. Thanos

For most reading this list, Thanos is easily the most recognizable name. He is the shadowy antagonist that has been in the background of nearly every film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point. Everything is building to the Mad Titan accumulating all of the Infinity Stones and placing them into his gauntlet.

The reason Thanos makes this list, and the reason he is so high is because of the gauntlet and how he is able to wield it. No character other than Thanos has been able to glean the full wrath of the stones, so this little exception is allowed. How powerful is this combo? Once he had the gauntlet, he was able to destroy half the life in the universe with a snap of his fingers. He was also able to resotre it with the same ease. The only reason Thanos isn’t rated higher on this list is that the scope of his power is limited to only the universe he is in, while all those ahead of him can manipulate matter, energy and reality across the multiverse with the same power.
