Galactus is one of the most powerful and enigmatic villains on all of the Marvel Universe. There will be more on his origin later in the list, but for now we focus on Fantastic Four #242-262. This is a masterful piece of work by John Byrne, centered on cosmic calamities, new enemies and planetary destruction, and it provides fans a great collection of heroes outside of the Fantastic Four gathered together for the greater good. After saving the Earth from Galactus, Reed Richards makes a moral decision with huge ramifications. A true must-read.
