8. Avengers: Age Of Ultron

Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed in this one. I went in expecting too much, and honestly that was my bad as I’m usually disappointed that way. Seeing the fact that my favorite Avengers villain (Ultron) was going to be the Big Bad in this film and how they kept teasing that Black Widow was going to play a huge role in it, my inner fanboy was geeking out, and I thought this was without a doubt going to be my new favorite MCU movie of all time … but I was very wrong.

The title Age Of Ultron was nothing but misleading from the actual comic story, some of the parts were unusually written, Ultron was very human-like, Tony and Banner were making Ultron with not a single Hank Pym design for the robot in sight and some bizarre new relationships came in such as Black Widow and Hulk, along with Hawkeye married with children. They killed one of the newest inductees of the Avengers, the classic Marvel humor came in at the wrong times or wasn’t there at all, and even the mid-credits scene was repetitive and kind of a waste.

This was almost like a slow nightmare. I did indeed like the fact that I finally got to see a decent live-action film with Ultron in it, we got a good cameo from the world of Black Panther, the final battle was cool and Hawkeye proved his worth to the team. Black Widow’s part was out of character, but she definitely was a big player in the film, and I enjoyed Scarlet Witch and thought Elizabeth Olsen was a perfect choice. The Vision just came in and made the audience and the Avengers’ minds get blown away. The visuals were great, and overall it was a fairly decent Avengers installment, it just didn’t come anywhere near the first one nor become my favorite Phase Two film.

On a side note, I love Joss Whedon, and I can’t thank him enough for his fantastic work on the first Avengers film. I can’t wait to see what the Russo brothers have in store for Avengers: Infinity War.
