Wonder Woman Rumor: Villain’s Goal Revealed

Via Heroic Hollywood, we have rumors on what the big-bad will be seeking in 2017’s Wonder Woman.  If this is true, this will play out in epic proportions on the silver screen.  Are you ready? …

Warning: Potential Spoilers Ahead

  • The film will primarily take place in modern day with flashbacks to several time periods.  In a key scene during the film, Wonder Woman will also explain to Steve Trevor how she defeated Ares during World War I.
  • The main villain will be Circe, an evil sorcerer, but she’ll be controlled by Ares, God of War.  Throughout the film, she’ll be using her powers to blast Wonder Woman and turn men into beasts.  In the final act, Circe will transform into a giant Chimera.
  • Ares draws his power from death and destruction.  To him, the more carnage the better.
  • After Ares discovers the existence of a powerful sword locked and hidden away in Themyscira, he recruits Circe to insight World War III for the purposes of gaining enough psychic energy to unlock the sword.  Ares will also momentarily come into play during some key battle scenes and send bat-like demon creatures — as seen in the animated Wonder Woman (2009) — to keep Wonder Woman busy while Circe finds a way to start World War III.
  • With the sword, Ares will become the most powerful god in the universe and be able to defeat Zeus, King of the Gods, himself and conquer Olympus.
  • During certain Wonder Woman battle scenes, Batman may be watching — either from a distance or from his surveillance computer.  This will lead him to approach Wonder Woman — something that will happen before the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
  • By the end of Wonder Woman, the sword will have mysteriously disappeared.  This will lead Wonder Woman to search for it in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

All of this sounds insanely awesome and will be a great first solo outing for the granddaddy … err … grandmommy of all female superheroes.  It will also create an interesting dynamic for the overall DC Extended Universe by having the events take place before and then lead into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
