Wizard World New Orleans Getting Exclusive Michael Golden Civil War #1 Variant

With Captain America: Civil War coming to theaters next year, all things Civil War should be hot in 2016. Wizard World certainly understands this only too well, which is why it’s getting artists to contribute exclusive variant covers of the original Civil War #1 for some of its upcoming shows.

Wizard World New Orleans is one of those stops, with the company announcing today that all Captain America Platinum VIP attendees will receive an exclusive variant of Civil War #1 with a cover by Michael Golden. The artist is known for his work for both Marvel and DC as well as books like Vampirella for other publishers.

The Captain America Platinum VIP package isn’t cheap at $1,099.99, but it includes admission to all three days of the show with early access to the floor, autograph tickets for Chris Evans (Captain America), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and Frank Grillo (Crossbones), a group photo op with all five actors, four guaranteed seats at their Q&A panel and more.

Wizard World Comic Con New Orleans is taking place on January 8-10 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Other celebrity guests scheduled to attend include directors Anthony and Joe Russo, Doctor Who stars Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Jenna Coleman, Gotham star Ben McKenzie and multiple cast members from The Walking Dead. A full slate of well-known comics creators, including Gene Ha, Christos Gage and Danny Fingeroth, will also be on hand.
