Get a sneak peek at one of the most unusual comic book team ups in years, Batman & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Comic book history is filled with unusual team-ups of characters, be they in the same company or rare instances of companies cooperating for unique crossovers (just look at stuff like X-Men & Star Trek). But few may be more unusual than Batman’s latest team up with the Teenage Mutant Ninjas Turtles in the appropriately titled Batman & Teenage Mutant Nina Turtles.

Here’s the official synopsis of Batman & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

"DC Comics and IDW team up for the crossover you never saw coming as two of the greatest entertainment icons meet for the first time! In Gotham City, a series of deadly raids leads Batman to believe he’s up against a group of highly trained ninjas known as the Foot Clan! Somehow, they’ve crossed over to another dimension and are determined to take advantage of the situation while looking to get back home. But they haven’t come alone: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo are hot on their trail. Get ready for excitement as heroes and villains from both worlds clash and team up in an epic battle that threatens the very fabric of reality!"

As someone who doesn’t religiously follow comics (I’m more of the TV/Movie guy on staff), I sort of wonder what aspects of continuity are at play here in Batman & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Will we see Krang? Because frankly, I’d LOVE to see Batman take on Krang. And Shredder has to be in there somewhere, right? I mean, the Turtles helping Batman take on The Joker or Killer Croc might be fun, but don’t sound nearly as interesting as Batman taking on some of the Turtles deadliest foes. Hell, bring in Baxter Stockman and his mousers. I’ll be very interested to check out what kind of adventures Batman & the Turtles have together. Check out a preview of some of the pages below and Batman & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is available this Wednesday!
