See The Marvel Avengers Academy Character Trailer Show Off Teen Avengers

If you’ve been following the news about Marvel Avengers Academy, you already know that TinyCo’s upcoming mobile game is taking Earth’s Mightiest Heroes somewhere we’ve never seen them go before: to school.

Today, we got to see exactly what that means for some of the team’s most famous members, as TinyCo released a character trailer that uses student picture device as a narrative device to show off teen versions of Iron Man, Thor, Loki, Captain America, Black Widow and Hulk. Even though we don’t get to hear any of them speak, it’s enough for the tone of the game to come through via the characters’ individual personalities.

Of course we’ve already seen a teen Tony in the comics, and while it didn’t work out all that well, Marvel Avengers Academy looks like it will offer something different while keeping the core traits of these heroes intact. TinyCo’s press release mentions other characters on the game’s “deep roster of fan favorites,” including Wasp, Hawkeye, Ultron (a former janitorial robot!) and Nick Fury as Dean of Students. Character art has also shown off Ms. Marvel, who of course is already a teen. Maybe she’ll be the one hero for whom everything is mostly normal …

Topping it all off is the idea that Fury is hiding something — and he usually is, in all honesty — that will only come to light as you progress through the game. Expect Black Widow to be one of the students actively trying to figure out what that is.

We’re definitely intrigued. No release date has been announced yet, but Marvel Avengers Academy is “coming soon” for iOS and Android devices.
