Batman v Superman: Doomsday Not The Final Villain?

Batman v Superman production designer teases that Doomsday is not the end of the movie

Whether you thought the latest trailer for Batman v Superman was good or not, it does seem to basically show the entire movie. Even the main villain the heroes must put aside their differences and fight together, which is Zod somehow turned into Doomsday.

But despite all we’ve seen in the latest trailer, is Batman v Superman actually still holding a few surprises for the actual movie? That’s what production designer Patrick Tatopoulos is hinting at:

"When the film is called Batman v or versus Superman, it really has a lot of levels to the meaning. Superman isn’t just killed off at the end of something. We see how he evolves as part of Lex’s plan to protect the world. Seeing the Superman we know, be gone, and then replaced with this reproduction is really going to make fans think of how we look at these super beings. It was especially interesting to figure out, how would you create Superman from Zod… then how would that involve into Doomsday. The timeframe of how things fall into place will surprise fans Doomsday isn’t just the final act."

So what does that mean? Well any number of things really. It could mean we see Lex Luthor in battle armor of some sort. Or hell maybe Doomsday isn’t Zod and they turn Zod into a very serious version of Bizarro. Metallo is a possibility I guess, but that would seem like a simple villain for the heroes to beat after they’ve already beaten Doomsday.

But what it may also indicate is setting up The Justice League movie, the first part of which is due out in 2017. I mean, they have to set up the Justice League somehow, getting it started at the end of Batman v Superman with say Darkseid or Brainiac showing up in some capacity. Either way, hopefully this means we will be in for nice surprises when we go see Batman v Superman in March.
