New Captain America: Civil War International Trailer Puts Focus On Cap’s Choice

It’s remix time!
The newly released Captain America: Civil War international trailer begins with a literal bang, and while it doesn’t contain much in the way of new footage, it does make things a little less Bucky-centric. Instead, the way this preview is edited makes it seem like the weight of the world is on the shoulders of Steve Rogers as he tries to determine the right path to take.
In the end, of course, he decides to fight, backed by some of his Avengers teammates.
Usually Japan gets all the cool stuff, but I prefer the full length American trailer to this one, simply because it’s longer and more completely coveys the scope of this particular conflict. On the flip side, if there are still any lingering doubts about whose movie this is — in other words, the folks who fear this becoming Avengers 2.5 — should be pretty pleased with marketing like this. It’s a Captain America movie that happens to have plenty of other superheroes in it, not the other way around.
What we still haven’t seen yet from any of the trailers for Civil War are the villains. I’m especially looking forward to seeing what Marvel has cooked up for the look of Crossbones, as he’s a villain I’ve already grown to love to hate. There’s plenty of time for more trailers, TV spots and the like, both home and abroad, before Captain America: Civil War blasts into theaters on May 6, 2016.
