VIZ Announces Naruto Epilogue Manga, New Box Set
By Nick Tylwalk
Naruto is one of the most popular manga series ever, and after running 72 volumes, it’s also finished. Except it also isn’t quite finished.
Confused? While it’s true that creator Masashi Kishimoto wrapped up his epic ninja saga that ran more than 15 years in late 2014, that doesn’t mean there isn’t new Naruto product in the pipeline for early 2016. VIZ Media announced this week that not only is there a new Naruto epilogue manga volume on the way, but the final part of the regular series is being collected in a new box set as well.
Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and The Scarlet Spring is available in digital form now via VIZManga.com, the VIZ Manga app or various leading digital comics stores. But it will make its North American print debut on January 5, telling an untold story set after the conclusion of the regular series.
"In the years since the great ninja war, peace has bloomed in the ninja world, and a new generation has begun to take root. Naruto’s work as Hokage seems to be pretty mundane, but his son, Boruto, is constantly demanding attention. Luckily for Naruto, he can make clones of himself to babysit his son. But Sasuke’s daughter, Sarada, could be the target of a mysterious figure who has connections to the Uchiha clan!"
Also releasing on that same day will be Naruto Manga Box Set 3, a new and more economic way to get physical copies of the final volumes of Naruto at a great price. It includes volumes 49-72 for a suggested $185.99 in the U.S. ($214.99 in Canada), as well as “exclusive premiums.”
Look for both products wherever you get your manga, and head to Naruto.com for more information.
