Batman Holding a Sniper Rifle

Batman holding a gun seems as out of place as Superman holding a cigarette.  But there are exceptions to the rule.  You know, when the universe is in danger and you really have no other options.  Though it’s rare, the Dark Knight has used firearms from time to time.  And it’s definitely never a decision taken lightly.  In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we do see Batman holding a sniper rifle, which certainly intrigues a lot of fans as to why he has it.

  • Batman, in mainstream DC publications, has a strong aversion to guns and firearms.  This may be due to pure principle or the fact that his parents were murdered with a handgun.
  • In the early days of Batman’s creation, Batman used a handgun and also killed criminals without second thought.
