Is Rocksteady Gearing Up To Make Another Batman Video Game?
By Nick Tylwalk
It’s common knowledge that the Batman: Arkham video game series is finished. In fact it’s officially complete now that Rocksteady has released the final DLC content for Batman: Arkham Knight, which just became available this week. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that the company is done with the Dark Knight altogether.
According to Moviepilot, among other outlets, there is a quick teaser featuring a well-known Batman villain that shows up near the end of a developer interview video released to promote the final Arkham Knight DLC. The question being asked of the team is whether they can say “categorically that this is the end of the world for Rocksteady and Batman.”
As you can see below at the 9:17 mark, we get color bars and a very quick glimpse of the Scarecrow that prevents an answer.
It’s been rumored before that perhaps Rocksteady would simply regroup and keep making Batman games by starting a brand new series, but this very intriguing way of saying “no comment” is bound to fan those flames even more. With Telltale Games also working on its own Batman title for 2016, the future for Batman video games may not include the word “Arkham” or its dark vision of Gotham City, but it’s one that looks very bright indeed.
