See The Captain America: Civil War Trailer In Lego Form
By Nick Tylwalk
If there’s one thing you can take to the bank, it’s that every time there’s a new preview of a superhero movie, someone with talent, dedication and free time is going to do a Lego version of it. Why should the Captain America: Civil War trailer be any different?
The answer is that it shouldn’t. So YouTube user JimA73 (maybe the ‘A’ stands for Avengers?) buckled down and got it done, shot for shot. Highlights include the oversized phones Captain America and Black Widow use to have their conversation — that can’t be helped in Lego scale — and the lighting effects on Iron Man’s armor.
You also can’t help but notice that Cap is a lot more cheerful than he figures to be in the actual movie. I guess his Lego minifigure is pretty smiley.
Big kudos also go out to the way JimA73 was able to capture the Cap and Bucky vs. Iron Man fight scene at the end of the trailer. Like many Lego trailer artists, though, this wasn’t his first rodeo; be sure to check out his channel for a lot more Marvel minifigure goodness.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to step up my Lego animation game. Like, a lot.
