The Flash Midseason Premiere Villain Revealed
By Nick Tylwalk
When The Flash returns for the second half of Season 2 on January 20, the Fastest Man Alive will be fighting a villain who’s new to him, but not to the rest of the S.T.A.R. Labs team.
Confused? Entertainment Weekly had the exclusive reveal earlier tonight for the villain in the midseason premiere, who will be played by Aaron Douglas of Battlestar Galactica fame. The Flash will find himself up against The Turtle, a baddie who can slow down time.
Not only that, but executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW that Cisco Ramon has known about this guy for the entire duration of the series, though Barry Allen has not.
"In a surprisingly funny twist, Cisco [Carlos Valdes] has actually been hunting The Turtle the entire series. To Barry’s surprise, everybody knows about Cisco’s hunt for the great white whale, which is The Turtle; he’s the only one who didn’t know about it. We love the idea that there was a villain out there that they knew about, but they just haven’t bothered to tell the audience about yet."
That does sound pretty cool. And even though the Turtle ranked No. 1 on our list of five Flash villains we never wanted to see on TV, we wrote that article before we knew we could trust The Flash team as much as we do now. We’re counting on them not to make him lame.

Cool or not, the Turtle will arrive to try to slow down our hero when he returns to The CW on Tuesday, January 19. Don’t miss it!
