Batman v Superman NASCAR Cars Will Race

Batman v Superman will be front and center at an upcoming NASCAR race!

Spencer Perry of Super Hero Hype has reported that two Hendrick Motorsports drivers, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson, will be getting some pretty awesome paint jobs on their cars featuring the titular heroes of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  At the NASCAR race on March 20 in Fontana, CA, Earnhardt Jr. will be sporting the Bat symbol on his No. 88 Nationwide Batman Chevrolet SS, and Johnson will be sporting the Kryptonian symbol of hope on his No. 48 Lowe’s Superman Chevrolet SS.

The cars (which can be seen in the featured image of this article) look great.  I would’ve been all for them painting Earnhardt Jr.’s car black to make it more resemble the Batmobile in the movie, but I can see how that would’ve been tricky in really making the Bat symbol stand out.  The Batman v Superman NASCAR fun doesn’t end there, though.  At the race there will be giveaways, themed activities, merchandise for sale, and some costumes from the movie on display.  Even those who don’t have tickets to the race aren’t completely left out, as Nationwide is holding a sweepstakes that includes tickets to the race and tickets to the red carpet premiere of Batman v Superman.  Check out Hendrick Motorsports’ YouTube video promoting both the race and the movie below:

I’m not a NASCAR fan by any means, but I know I’ll be rooting for Earnhardt Jr.’s Batman car on March 20.  This seems to me like a really good marketing opportunity for Warner Bros., as the race is such a big event taking place just five days before Batman v Superman premieres.  Be sure to keep it locked to Caped Crusades for continuing coverage of the upcoming film and for all your Batman news!
