Warner Bros. / DC Launches Official DC Films Facebook Page
By Steve Lam
In preparation for tonight’s television special — DC Films Presents: The Dawn of the Justice League — Warner Bros. / DC has launched their official Facebook page for all film properties residing in the DC Universe. With this launch, the studio has also provided two new images: an illustrated poster showing the senior founding members of the Justice League, and an image of the DC Films official logo.
An interesting thing to note is that the studio opted to use the title of “DC Films” versus “DC Extended Universe” — which has, so far, been the official moniker used by Warner Bros. / DC heads during interviews. Could this mean that they’re thinking bigger? You can, at the same time, say that the studio may be getting more specific with the use of the word “Film” in the title. Maybe “Extended” seemed too confusing to newcomers. We’re all fans, but we also have to remember that the general population had and will have their first exposure to superheroes via television and film. The streamlining of the official franchise name is certainly and interesting development.
Fans don’t have to wait long for DC’s shared universe launch on the silver screen because Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be releasing in March 2016 which will then be followed by Suicide Squad in August 2016. Soon after that, Wonder Woman, already in active production, will be released in 2017. And that doesn’t even begin to hit the tip of the iceberg because a whole slew of DC films are in the works.
Don’t forget to tune in to The CW tonight at 9:30PM when Warner Bros. / DC introduces the world to their plans with the television special DC Films Presents: The Dawn of the Justice League.
