Agent Carter Season 2, Episode 3 Synopsis: Better Angels
By Nick Tylwalk
Even by fast-paced Los Angeles standards, Peggy Carter has had a whirlwind of events happen to her since being ordered to head out to the West Coast branch of the SSR in Season 2 of Agent Carter. She reunited with old friends, stumbled onto one bizarre murder mystery, learned about some dangerous super-science and managed to meet and lose a potential love interest all in the first two episodes.
Will Agent Carter let us catch our breath after all of that in “Better Angels,” this week’s new episode? Probably not. Isodyne Energy might not be a problem any more, but Whitney Frost certainly is. The scheming actress managed to somehow survive her run-in with the rampant Zero Matter and was somehow changed as a result.

The problem is that Peggy and company don’t know that, and if Frost can keep her appearance from tipping her hand — not a guarantee considering how it appeared she might literally be coming apart at the end of episode 2 — she may have a serious advantage. What Peggy needs is an equalizer. Someone, like, say, Howard Stark.
Conveniently, that’s exactly who’s coming to visit. Edwin Jarvis already revealed that Stark was busy out in the L.A. area, setting up a movie studio (which could definitely be a front for other things) and getting to know the area’s eligible young women. Yet he should be able to free himself up to lend Peggy a hand, as we see in the official synopsis for “Better Angels” from ABC and Marvel:
"Peggy’s search for the truth about Zero Matter puts her on a collision course with her superiors as Howard Stark barnstorms in, on “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 26 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network."
Despite the respect she earned from her SSR colleagues during Season 1, Jack Thompson doesn’t look like he’ll be much of an ally to Agent Carter. Plus there’s the FBI guy throwing his weight around, meaning that our hero hasn’t escaped internal politics simply by moving to another office.

Then again, it wouldn’t be quite as much fun if she had. We’ll be watching to see what transpires during “Better Angels” Tuesday, January 26 at 9 pm.
