Batman V Superman: New Ads Highlight Gotham And Metropolis

In its continued effort to bring audiences into the world of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. / DC, in association with Turkish Airlines, launched two commercials highlighting new destinations for travelers.  Who else better to show off these mythical cities than their own respective wealthy citizens — Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor.

Technically, these commercials are a bonus because Warner Bros. / DC didn’t buy any advertising airtime during the Super Bowl for their upcoming blockbuster.  These were paid for by Turkish Airlines.

Bruce Wayne Promotes Gotham City

You can tell that Bruce is mighty proud of the city he calls home.  The initial cityscape shot shows Gotham like it should be — a sweeping port city that is a mixture of old and new.  Next, we see various buildings under construction and a great Easter egg — Ace Chemicals.  Batman fans will know that Ace Chemicals is where the Joker was created, when his former self, widely known as the Red Hood, fell into a vat of toxic chemicals — causing him to permanently embody green hair, chalk-white skin, and red lips.

However, like all captains of industry, Lex Luthor won’t let Bruce’s endorsement of Gotham City overshadow his efforts in bringing Metropolis back to life after the events of Black Zero — the devastating fight between Superman and General Zod.

Well played, Mr. Luthor … well played.  Nice dramatic shot of the Daily Planet and Superman making a quick flyby.  You’re definitely a savior to this great city (and I say that with a wink and a nudge).

Hey, these two guys have me sold!  If visiting these cities is as easy as purchasing a plane ticket, I’m there!  Alas, they only exist in the world of fiction.  However, the next best thing is to be taken to this wondrous universe via the silver screen.  And that will be happening in less than two months when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be unleashed to the world!
